What Program do you use for digital art?
I use the open source program Krita, it´s really good, but for retouches or special effects I rarely use GIMP 2.8 and Photoshop CS6.
What are your favorite traditional tools?
I like everything. The most common one I use is the normal graphite pencil, but I also often use fineliners for contures and colored pencils for coloring.
But, as traditional art is SO much, I also love to paint with Acrylics and I like to mix my watercolor pencils from Faber Castell with water and so have an idea of watercoloring. I dislike Oil paint because it´s so slimy and dries so hard.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get myself inspired everywhere. It can be a feeling I get in a moment, or a landscape I see. But, mostly, I get my ideas of my own digital picture gallery of downloaded art pieces. I take a look at every piece of art I have on my computer/smartphone/tablet and then pick some ideas out of them.
What are you drawing mostly?
As you can see in my gallery, I prefer dragons and cats, but I also like to draw/paint landscapes, often in combination with animals.
But, I´m really varied. I fangirl easily for stuff and so often draw just one picture of a film character for example. That annoys myself a little because I want to be a little more static, so I set a focus on something, like digital dragons... but I fail everytime. Because of that, you can find anything in my gallery. Good digital art, bad digital art, cartoon characters, pencil drawings, landscapes, portraits, photos...
Do you often draw?
Because of school, I´ve got a lack of time to draw but I force myself to get school stuff ready fastly so I can draw more. I really love arts and cannot imagine living without pencils and paper, so I try to use every free-time second.
Do you have idols?
Well, idols is a too hard word. I love every art piece that inspires me and has something special and unique in it. I indeed have deviants I admire, that´s for example Apofiss
. Check them out if you want to know what I like.
I still try to keep myself independent from too many idols because I want to prevent myself from emulating people. I want to find out if I can build up my own style.
Do you have any tips?
Hm, depends on what you want to know. If you want to know specific things about how I draw something, just comment and I try to answer.
My main tip is to never give up, whatever comes. I always have that feeling that my painting just doesn´t work out the way I wanted it to be. That´s the point when I get crazy for a while, but you have to keep doing and find a new idea to make your picture still become good. That can be any idea, just try to improvise. It´s my most important technique!
